A user-friendly first aid assistant that provides step-by-step guidance for handling emergencies, accessible anytime, to help save lives.
Inspiration
AidBrisk was inspired by the urgent need for quick, easy-to-follow first aid guidance during emergencies. In critical situations, many people feel unsure about what actions to take, especially when professional help is not immediately available. Our goal is to provide clear, step-by-step instructions that empower people to give effective first aid, potentially saving lives before help arrives.
What It Does
AidBrisk offers real-time, step-by-step instructions for first aid based on the symptoms or emergency scenario that the user describes. The app provides guidance on various situations, such as how to perform CPR or treat burns, with easy-to-understand instructions. It supports multiple languages to make it accessible to people from different backgrounds, and the emergency contact feature helps users quickly reach professional medical help and share their location. Features like offline mode and augmented reality (AR) will be added in future updates.
How we built it
We built AidBrisk using modern web technologies:
- Frontend & Backend: Both are developed using Next.js, which helps the app load quickly and respond efficiently to user inputs.
- Design: We used Tailwind CSS for the app’s layout, ensuring it is responsive and visually clear across devices.
- Functionality: The app provides accurate first aid guidance by using well-established medical protocols and user inputs, which are processed to deliver tailored instructions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Real-Time First Aid Guidance: The core feature of providing step-by-step instructions for first aid is working well and is available through both text and voice input.
- Multilingual Support: We’ve added multiple language options to ensure the app is accessible to a wide range of users.
- Emergency Contact Feature: The ability to directly contact emergency services and share your location with them is fully functional and could be crucial in urgent situations.
What's next for AidBrisk
- Augmented Reality (AR) Integration: Our next step is to add AR features, which will visually guide users through techniques like CPR by showing them exactly where to place their hands.
- Offline Mode: We plan to include offline functionality so that users can access first aid instructions even when they don’t have internet access.
- Improved Instructions: We will continue to enhance the app’s guidance, making it more tailored to specific types of emergencies and ensuring the instructions are clear and easy to follow.
- Community Engagement: We hope to add gamification features to help users practice first aid techniques and encourage learning through challenges and rewards.
